Large numbers of these rather magnificent sea ducks winter in the fjords of Northern Norway. A major objective of the trip was was to see and photograph them at close range. We did this by using a floating hide in Batsfjord harbour. This meant getting into the hide before dawn and lying face down to photograph the eiders at very low level. Low light levels and falling snow hindered our efforts but a good number of pleasing images were obtained.
